Wind Orchestra‐ "Matsuri" (Festival)

Performers and conductors from all over the world will get together in Mito! 

We are accepting any wind ensemble players regardless of nationality, gender, age, and experience. This will be a great opportunity to perform with musicians from many different countries and regions. We believe in the power of music. Participants will be able to connect with each other despite cultural differences, and will create a great ensemble together! The band’s name, “Matsuri” means “Festival.” Let’s celebrate the power of music together! 

Schedule

Concert: Saturday, August 17, 2024, 3 – 5 pm (Globis Hall)

Rehearsal schedule:

  • Wednesday, August 14, 2-5pm
  • Thursday, August 15, 2-5pm
  • Friday, August 16, 10:30 – 1:30pm
  • Saturday, August 17, 1-2:30pm

Each performer needs to bring their own instrument (Excludes percussion instruments. Bring your own mallet sticks)

Application due dates: May 24, 2024

The application will be open on a first come first serve basis. Each instrument category will be closed once the limit has been reached. 

Guest Conductors (TBA)

  • Each conductor will conduct the pieces from their country.
  • Performer: Players from all over the world (including IWBC members)
