Present & Perform at IWBC 2027

Any person of any gender, profession, age, and experience is welcome to apply. The deadline to apply is January 1, 2027.

Perform a Recital or Lecture Recital
For recitals, submit the following materials:
- Biography of the ensemble (if applicable, 50 words maximum)
- Biography of each individual performer(s) (50 words maximum)
- Representative recording (upload or link)
- Repertoire to be performed
Recital Presenters are required to register for the conference and all presenters will receive a significant discount on the registration fee (approximately half off).
Options:
- 60 minutes (50 minute recital with 10 minute transition between sessions, this can include a brief intermission if you’d like.)
- 30 minute recital (25 minutes with 5 minute transition between sessions)
DEADLINE: January 1, 2027. Those selected will be notified after all proposals have been reviewed.
Give a Lecture
For Presentations, submit the following materials:
- A biography (50 words maximum)
- A description of your presentation (250-500 words)
Preference will be given to presentations that showcase diversity and inclusion in brass playing. Presenters are required to register for the conference and all presenters will receive a significant discount on the registration fee (approximately half off). Presenters can choose either a 30 or 60 minute time slot.
DEADLINE: January 1, 2027. Those selected will be notified after all proposals have been reviewed.
Perform a Piece on a Group Recital
We are accepting proposals from performers to play one piece on a joint recital scheduled by IWBC. For the 2027 Conference, the categories are as follows:
- Professors Recital – open to educators employed by a college institute
- New Works Recital – open to anyone performing works composed in the last 5 years
- Student Showcase Recital – open to any student and/or student ensemble over 18 years of age and currently enrolled in a college program
- Duo Recital – works for two performers or two performers & accompaniment
- Electronic Accompaniment Recital – works for any instrumentation that incorporate an electronic component
Suggested length of pieces is 10 minutes or less but longer works or movements will be considered. If you would like to be a part of these recitals, submit the form below. Those chosen to perform on a group recital will receive the discounted presenter rate for registration.
Lead a Group Warmup
There will be warmup classes throughout the conference in the morning that are open to all conference participants. Anyone is welcome to submit a proposal but preference will be given for those proposing innovative and engaging warmups. Selected warmup clinicians will receive the presenter discount at the conference.
Organize a Panel Discussion
Choose a topic, bring your friends, and share your knowledge at our conference!
Give a Masterclass
Are you interested in sharing your pedagogy during the conference by working with conference participants? Submit a proposal here to give a masterclass. The masterclasses will be open to all conference attendees who are interested (performers will be selected via a lottery drawing).
Lead a Health & Wellness Session
Submit a proposal to lead a session focusing on an aspect of wellness for musicians.

Yes, anyone is welcome to apply to as many presentation options as you would like. You can also submit multiple proposals for the same category
No! The entire conference is for everyone and presenters are the same. Everyone is welcome to apply regardless of gender, age, career, and more.
If you have a proposal that doesn’t fit perfectly into one of the categories above, that is okay. You can choose the one that is closest and there are opportunities to include additional information in the application process.
